Taking orders

Phobify

Stop replacing stickboxes.

Mail in your GameCube controller and it comes back with a PhobGCC inside. Same shell, same buttons, same feel. Hall effect sensors instead of pots, so the sticks don't wear out and start drifting on you a year from now.

Who does the work

Phobify is run by an engineer with a degree in computer engineering and years of hands-on soldering and electronics work.

Installs are done by hand, one controller at a time. Each one is reassembled, tested on hardware, and played before it ships back.

If something unrelated to the install turns up once the shell is open, like a worn trigger or a cracked post, you get an email with options before any extra work happens.

A PhobGCC 2.0.5 board installed in an opened GameCube controller, with both stickboxes, the tactile Z switch and a blue paracord cable visible.
Builder's own controller. The paracord isn't part of a standard order.

Pricing

One service, one optional add-on. No tiers, no bundles.

PhobGCC Install

$99.99

The service

Your controller, with a Phob where the old board was.

  • PhobGCC 2.0.5 board, installed in the shell you send
  • Tactile Z switch
  • Firmware flashed to v0.31
  • Bench-tested and played before it goes back in the box

Calibration & Tuning

$19.99

Optional

Arrives ready to play instead of needing setup first.

  • Stick calibration done, every notch measured and adjusted to your gate
  • Trigger mode set for Melee or Ultimate
  • Button remapping, if you want it (A, B, D-pad up, L, R, X, Y, Z)
  • Snapback filtering and waveshaping dialed to your preference
  • Rumble strength set where you want it, or off

Every Phob needs stick calibration after it goes in. You can do it yourself for free using the official PhobGCC guide, or have it done here so the controller arrives ready to play.

How this works

  1. 01

    Order

Order through Etsy or by email. The shipping address comes with your confirmation.

  2. 02

    Ship it

Sturdy box, not a bubble mailer. Drop a note inside with your name and order number.

  3. 03

    Work happens

Old board out, Phob 2.0.5 in, v0.31 flashed, calibrated, tested.

  4. 04

    Back to you

Usually 3 to 5 business days after it arrives.

Packing it up

Put a slip of paper in the box with your name and order number. Unlabeled controllers are the most common cause of a delayed order.

Use a box rather than a bubble mailer, and keep it sturdy enough to reuse. The same box ships the controller back to you.

Other work

The standard order covers the Phob install and nothing else, mostly because sourcing parts and stocking options is where the time goes. Holding the scope there is what keeps this at$99.99 with a few days' turnaround.

That said, if you send the parts, they can usually go in while the controller is already open. Paracord, buttons, springs, a shell you picked out yourself. Ask first so it can be quoted and scheduled.

Custom and other electronics work

Other controllers, other consoles, repairs and electronic mods can be worked out by email. Send-in only, priced per job, with timing agreed before you ship anything.
